diesel engine swap

i have a 89 diesel jetta that i am kinda attaced to and i was wondering how hard would it be to possibly swap in a 1.9 tdi i am only 17 and would mostlikely be swaping the engines in my auto class

The TDI is an electronicly controlled engine... You need the entire wireharness to do the swap which includes:

1. Electronic Engine Control Module (ECU)
2. All sensors and wires
3. Instrument Cluster
4. Fuse Box and wires.

You need a donor car, or a full engine/wire harness on ebay. Other than that, it should fit in there just fine, but you need the electronic controls to use it.
