I just saw an A2 jetta for sale on ebay with 895,000 miles on it. Is that even possible? They even had a picture of the odometer, and sure enough, it reads 895,000. That's crazy, I didn't realize ANY car could last that long.

uhhhhh... it could if you keep putting mew engines and junk into it! i think it was played with. you can hook a drill up to the cable and just have it run for awhile. that is what you do for rent acars. that or you disconnect it so it doesn't read any miles and you get the car for cheap.

A2's can go that many miles on the original engine. Diesels are super reliable and can frequently reach one million miles on the original engine.

By the time it reaches 1,000,000, there can't be any original parts in it... The 1.6L diesel engine only lasts about 280,000 (if babied it's whole life) before the main bearings give way, and the rings start to fail.
