Just a quick question, I am about to sell my 2001 vw beetle 2.0. I've had a check engine light on for about a year now. it goes off in the winter intermittently but stays on above 40 degrees. I bought a replacement sensor for this today, but I don't have the repair manual. Could anyone briefly tell me where this part is located?

trouble code p0118

Thanks!!!

I don't know anything about the beetles, but if I had to guess i'd say find the upper radiator hose and follow the hose to the engine... on the engine there will be a plastic flange, which bolts to the engine and connects to the upper radiator hose... On that flange should be the temperature sensor.

That's how it is on most other VW's anyway.

youre talking about the coolant sensor right?

i know on 1.8's, its on a hose just to the right of the head, up top
