So funny,

today I'm just cruisin around in my mom's FORD TAURUS STATION WAGON, just checkin out the dealerships for used cars when, on my way to the local GM dealership there's a red light. I'm coming in, start to slow down, and it flicks to green. I see a grey dodge ram 3500 diesel waiting at the light so I'm right beside him, passing by at about 30km/h. Next thing I know I hear a screaming loud turbo and this guy comes roaring behind me in like 1.5 seconds, so, we're both doing 30km/h down the road and I know this person is a teenager (judging by "N" on the back - meaning "new driver", we have to display it for a min of two years here in BC) so as he/she tries to pass me I step on the gas, here the v6 start to rev up and blow past the guy at 80km/h where, now that i'm a good 20km/h over the speed limit I slow down, about 5 lengths ahead, and pull into the canadian tire (passed the GM :P).

So yeah, basically, i'm just cruising along and then this person tries not to let me get ahead of them (2 lane road :S) so they step on it until their front bumper is at mine and then get beat by a ford taurus.

Silly people.

Those V6 taurus are pretty quick... My ford tempo had the same engine those older taurus' have and it was pretty fast for what the car was.... By the way, that sucks about the "N" thinggy.

Yeah, we have the worst licensing system.

It used to be for 3 months, then 6 months (what I had), and now 12 months (what my brother has) where you have to display a red "L" on the back of your car, and you must drive with someone over 25 with their full license (class 5).

After that, you take a road test to get your "N" where for 2 years you can only carry one passenger unless accompanied by someone over 25 with their class 5, immediate family doesn't count. To add to that you can't have ANY alcohol in you, which seems understandable but think if someone had a single beer 3 hours before they went to drive home, and they read 0.0001 if the cop is a **** they can take their license away.

Any speeding tickets, not displaying the "N", or over-the-passenger-limit violations etc. take 'points' off your license. Lose all 5 points and you lose your license for 3 months and have to start all over again from the beginning of your "N".

Thankfully my 2 years are up as of March 30th... and I'm thinking of going in and getting my class 5 in the next two days (my days off) if I can borrow my mom's car for it and remember to do all the shoulder checking, 10 and 2, etc. to pass. If I get that, it'd be great, since I hardly ever drive with an "N" anymore since my usual ride is a big cube van I drive for work and it'd look so ghey sticking an N on the back of it.

Agreed.... The amount of stupidity and ignorance in Utah is AMAZING... I've never in my life seen such idiocy. Utah drivers have absolutly no respect for anybody else on the road but themselves.

We just got a similar thing here Steve. You can only have 1 person in the car that isn't family if you have had your G2 for less then a year, or something like that. It doesn't apply to me so I forget exactly what it is. FTR G2 is stage 2 of a 3 step process. It is 100% useless though, just a job creation idea by the government
