Wiper modification

I have an 82 Rab Conv. It seems the majority of rain in the Pac NW is too light forcing the blades to jump, but too heavy not to use them. I would like to change from a standard low-high wiper to one that includes a delay. What I don't care to do is add on a cheap under dash adapter :( . My question is if I install the entire switch assembly with the delay will any other changes be necessary?

All you need is the proper relay. If you look at your fuse box you'll notice that there is a metal bar connecting 2 slots. Remove that and install the relay and you have intermittant wipers, no aftermarket stuff required :D
You don't need to change the wiper stalks or anything

...I think he left off the part about removing the steering wheel, and removing the little plastic tab, that allows you to move the wiper lever DOWN to reach the contacts..

It's not hard to do-- but the collar around the steering column gets brittle, so take your time.. :roll:

...don't ask me how I know that part.. :(

I did mine some time ago. Just unfasten the rear wiper, check out where it pivots and take a bench grinder to it. Grind off the metal that keeps it from swinging up, touch it up with some sandpaper and semi-gloss black paint and stick it back on.
