so i just picked up an 82 rabbit the otherday. 2door, 1.6l carbed w/ a 4 speed. scored this little girl for $50. i have zero dollars in it and runs like a champ. under the hood everything was in great condition, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, you name it. the interior could use a bit of work, as well as the paint and front end. but this is a ruse free car, no holes, sure there is a minimal amount of surface rust so i can stop the real damage. i scored some gti wheels for it today so that gave it a better look.
i have great plans for it this summer, and can't wait to get it looking show quaility

dude... did you know rabbits weigh like 1800 lbs??? SOOOO light. You could make one freaking mean autocrosser, or restore it to factory showroom quality... Nothing better than a mint condition classic rabbit.

you definitly stole that car. I've paid 6X that for a similar car in half as good of shape.
You're very close to having yours look like Kris' car

You paid 50 bucks for a running Rabbit! I spent 6 months to find one (a convertable) for 1,400 and I've done a fair amount of work to it. I want to know-did I get burned or did you get a major steal on yours? No don't tell me, I say any VW is better than none at all. Happy cruisin'

1400 for a convertable sounds normal, depending on the condition of course
