Here's the plan, my friend wants a new engine in his 90 golf. I have one from an 86 that was in my rabbit.
I can use the CIS engine and just swap all the sensors and shiz from the digi engine onto the CIS and it will work right?
What about the injectors? I'll need new heatsheilds and seals?
What other gaskets etc should be replaced while I have this all torn apart. (I'm not opening up the engine)
In regards to CVs, I don't need new CV bolts or anything like that right? What do I do to keep the CVs from drying out while they are removed from the tranny?

Refer to my 16V digifant thread... It's pretty much the same idea.

Thanks, Lots of good info in there. Now what I'm looking for is "refreshing" the engine as far as seals and gaskets go. Is there a kit or anything?

Autozone, Kraggs, Checker Auto... all of them should sell a gasket kit for this engine... That should include head gasket, manifold gaskets, all oil seals, main seal, etc...
