Ok, so this might be more realistic than a dream. . . However this is what car I want when I can afford it.

2000 lb. car with a 1.8 liter toyota engine/transmission. . . Power windows as an option . . . True driver's vehicle. Plus it looks sweet!
Thing is, if I got a car like this the first thing I would want to do is replace the toyota engine with a 1.8T, then soup the @#$& out of it
Specs include estimate 4.9s 0-60 time, would love to shave that off a bit with a better powerplant.
Unfortunatly, the two drawbacks are:
A) I'm not making the money to purchase a vehicle like this
and
B) I need to wait a year so my insurance becomes somewhat close to affordable.[/img]

LOL, it does look like a toy car in that picture. . .
The decision was made by Lotus to use the Toyota powertrain in the Elise, probably for power and reliablility. Would love to see what kind of performance you could get with a 1.8T with at least a k04 turbo, or slightly bigger. But that car in British Racing Green would look very very nice!
My dad had an old (the 57-62) Lotus Elite, that thing handled like it was on rails. Shame he had to sell it...

Keep dreamin
Give me about six months, and I can afford it (not mind you lease, or finance, but pay CA$H for it), there's just other things that I would rather invest in, like a house. I figure real estate, then start financing for retirement, and THEN mid-life crisis car would be the smart way to prioritize.
BTW, if you want to look at the stats, go to www.lotuscars.com
