View Full Version : Fusible links-- what amperage??
I needed to replace one of the fusible links (near the battery tray) on my '82 Pickup..
ANYONE have an idea what amperage they're rated for?? I was going to replace with circuit breakers..

Are the fused links from the 2 main wires (other than the positive battery terminal) leading from the battery? If so, those fuses are not factory. There is a 50amp fuse for the glow plugs (assuming your truck is a diesel), which should be mounted on the firewall... The glows get their feed from one of these 2 main "accessory" wires... The other wire is the main feed for the fuse/relay panel... I would probably put 50amp fuses on each, unless you wanted to test and find out which one operates the glows... In which case, 50 for the glows and 30-35 amp fuse for the other.
