thats right folks i nolonger have a CEL on all the time. I broke down and took off my deramped and polished TB and put a stock one back on. cleaned the be***** out of it and put it on. Cleared the coded with my vag-com and badda bing no more cel. and i have tried to trip it too. beating the piss outta it. and nothing. so yea just thought i would share since its been over 10 months that ive had it on. but i must say. there is a major loss in throttle responce and power. i can only chirp them into 2nd i could smoke em going into 2nd with the old TB. so im going to put it on when i take it to the track. then only down fall with the deramped it is tripes the cel for a TPS malfunction and when reved past 4,500 rpms it will keep reving for another 7-800 then hold for about .5 second then go down. but thats good for racing cuz it acts like your flatshifting. and for you turbo guys you know what im talking about and those who arnt its when you don't take your foot off the gas and shift, it is to hold boost while you shift.

yes but more revs would be better than "flat shifting"

do you really think a throttle body adds that much power? :?

yes i do. putting a larger throttle body when you have extencive intake and exhuast work adds a nice amount. It really does bring the car alive. at WOT there isn't much of a difference but there is one. people say it only makes a difference between idle and 3,000rpms but at WOT its the same but no its not because with the ramps you still can't flow as much air as you can without them. also its not being thrown around as with the ramps so more and smoother air= more power. and what do you mean by more revs is better than flat shifting? what more revs i don't understand. if you take your foot of the gas you loose your boost so flat shifting is the way to go. thats why auto's are better for turbo racing because it will hold boost.

according to the first post, once you hit 4500 rpms, it will only rev for another 7-800, which is only about 5300 rpms. the gain from shifting at a higher rpm(like 6500-7000) would be higher than the gain from easier power-shifting. your car will be faster if you shift higher, which it sounds like you cannot do with the modded throttle body.

and i'll believe the gains from it when i see a dyno sheet. till then i say why not stick with the stock one so you can rev higher and not get a cel? i dont think its worth the maybe 10 hp the other TB gets you

just my 2cents

ohhhh thats not what i ment. i was trying to say once the car was reved to 4,500 if you let off the gas it would keep reving for 7-800 rpms without your foot on the pedal. you can rev it as high as you want but anything below 4,500 and it will just fall normaly but anythign above 4,500 and it will rev by itself. so it works as if you were flat shifting but you can take your foot off the pedel.i have took it higher but it would just redline it self if you didn't shift fast enough. so yea you can take it higher. oh and im working on dyno's. this place near me runs a thing once a month $55 for 3 pulls. i wanna do 1 pull with the stock TB on. one with the modded TB then one with no filter stock tb and chip. but i need 55 bucks and wait till next month i doubt its 10hp one could only wish if anything that it gave that could help spin the tires more is the responce time its very sharp giving it less time for the motor to give and loose power through the drivetrain. the stock one is nice but i do miss the Throttle responce. but i was checking my mfd and half highway and half city 27.5MPG i used to get 22 highway if i was lucky with the old TB on.

yea i kno thats why i miss it. kinda. since i do not have a turbo it does not really do much but make it smoke the tired into second because its holding revs. BTW nice myspace :)
