ok its been awhile since i drove my jet but i took it out last night. comming up my street i floored it in first. tons of power. i shifted to second and floored it and NO POWER! it was accelerating but no wheres near first. now i know first a is quick gear but *****. its like i hit a limiter but i was at 3grand flooring it. i dunno whats up. i know the car needs a tune up and im getting cap, rotor, and wires today. i allready have new bosh platnums waiting to go in. but im going to do it all at once. new airfilter and fuel filter 2. would the WOT sensor cause it to cut power. cause i know when it hits the limiter it cuts the fuel by half. is that what i hit?

ok update i put in new bosh platnum plugs in. new cap, new rotor, new air filter. im putting on wires this weekend and a fuel filter. cause wire are $40 and i can't stick that right now.and im going to wait till there is little fuel in the tank to change the filter. im going to try to get to a junk yard this weekend as well to get some new connectors cause i messed with my coolant temp sensor and when it got a good connection the revs went up. when you start your car without the sensor and you put it on do the revs go up? i don't know if i need a new sensor as well. what should i look for it to do with it not pluged in and with it pluged in? its not in and my idle starts at 800 then goes up to 1100 and its running really rich.

That's what I did to my car just this week too. Saw a dramatic improvement to the power. What kind of wires did you get, I got performance wires and they were $180 CAD! I couldn't believe how much they were.

ok update,
my O2 sensor is bad. i unpluged it and i got almost all the power back. it running alot better but my idle gets weird. if i have it idle up to NOT *normal operating temp.* the idle will climb to 1900, it takes a littlewhile but it will get up there. any thoughts? oh and my fan doesn't kick on till the car is like overheating! WTF is up with that? i watch the temp gauge clib till the light goes off and i got to either shut the car off if its idleing while im working on it or if im driving i have to pray for the fan to kick on or keep the speed up.

Get the oxygen sensor replaced before you stick the platinums in... Without the O2 sensor the ECU reverts to an ultra rich mixture assured to keep the engine running at any rpm or load... Thus at lower rpms, a VERY rich mixture... This will lower your fuel economy, and destroy your spark plugs... Get that oxy before you install the plugs.... As for the fan, I'd be carefull about getting stuck in traffic... If you have air conditioning, you can turn the air conditioner on, and this will start the fan going... GET THAT FIXED ASAP, go to the junkyard and pull the sensor off the radiator on the drivers side of the car... You might have to remove the headlight and some wires to get to it, but that's the coolant temp sensor, and it probably bit the dust last winter, you just didnt notice it cause the fan rarely operates in the winter anyway.

Lemme know how it goes.

Platinums are almost 5 bucks!!! Where do you get them for cheap? Could you possibly supply the users of the website?

i thought i should warn you
be real carefull about reconnecting the coolant temp sensor while the car is running the bently manual says you can toast your ecu doing that :-/ but you can disconnect it while running no problem
lol
the other day i disconnected the blue CTS and tried to drive it
.....nope not gonna happen it was missing like a mofo heheh
