Nice! How long did it take to install? any more pictures?

I did the complete install over the holiday weekend. I started on thursday night and finished monday afternoon because I had to wait to get the down pipe welded. It then took me three days to find out that I had a serious vacuum leak at the intake manifold. I fixed that, and its been running good so far since.

It's a kit I have been building since last december, I have about $1,900 into the parts I am using. I am running a garrett t3 super 60 with c2 software and #30 injectors.

I refuse to buy a kit, this is why I ask... Where did you get your main parts?

I bought most of it either on vortex classifieds or ebay

Nice, could you make a DIY? I don't even know where to begin on what parts to buy, etc. I don't know how to set up a turbo. If you could explain what parts you need, and like make a quick schematic of how to set up the turbo, etc, that'd be really sweet

Looks good! Get a dyno!

the BOV should be as close to the throttle body as possible, or you are going to have massive pressure drops when you shift... You want as much pressure building up behind the BOV as possible so when you open up the throttle that pressure is then released back into the intake manifold...

i hate to give the typical vortex answer but you just really need to search or talk to people about that. that is such an involved question its not even funny. and the answer is different depending on what you want to get out of it, and on who you talk to

muppet-where did you get a new t3s60 for $350?? 8O

lets make some bets on the dyno, i say 230 whp on 10 psi

Ebay :D brand new with smoothed and polished compressor housing.

I am thinking more like 200whp at 10 psi, but I wouldn't be opposed to 230whp. :)

Thanks for the info muppet. :) And I hope you break 200 whp, that'd be sweet. That's my goal in my car eventually :D

true, tim's only made 250 on 16 psi so i guess thats about right, im just kinda optimistic. the glass is half full, i say :D

You tranny won't hold up past 175hp....mabey for a while, but not for long. You might consider saving some money before you up your boost to buy a Limited Slip Diffy and mabey some gears and shiz... Then you can just have all that done when you do your clutch.

Did you ever dyno this muppet?

oh, one more thing, can I get a pic of how you mounted the intercooler? Any shaving of the bumper?

muppet
03-06-2006, 01:55 AM
I have not had it on a dyno yet. This is the only picture I have of the intercooler going on.

http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/797/intercooler24bz.jpg

As for the bumper, it required some serious cutting to get it bolted back on, and its still crooked. I need to work on that a bit more.

you should definitely go test it out real good by smashing some rice patties...LOL

...but thats just what i would do
