ok i wanna get my vr to hit 14.5 maybe i can do it maybe not but just follow me while i mod my car. ok so in the past 3 weeks. ive gotten a chip not installed yet will wait for further mods and gas prices to drop a bit. ive gotten another throttle body to replace mine with the bad TPS. i took the new TB and ported it. then mildly polished it. pics at the end of the post. Ive gotten a headder. will be installing that shortly. ive starting making a custom upper pipe intake. abd is the only company that makes it. i can make one just as good. to the same specs and sell it for way less. ill show you pics of how thats comming. abd uses a 3" stainless tube power coats it and put couplings on it along with a pcv input. i have 3" stainless pipe i can power coat. i just need to finish with the pcv input. i installed the TB today have yet to run it cuz i need to clean the filter. when i install the headder i am removeing the cat and useing a mustang trick with a wire in o2 sensor called a mil elimantor for us a cel elimantor. it makes the computer think the rear o2 sensor is working perfectly and the cat is there. so ill have full 2.5" exhuast no cat or a gutted cat i havent decided yet. here are some pics. 56k beware

gas prices to drop a bit.

Why does that matter

Get some cams.

If you want to go 12's you could go wit a turboz and a LSD

So did you actually port the throttle body or just deramp it? I deramped mine, and noticed a difference, but I didn't want to port because you then need a bigger butterfly valve.

deramped then took a little bit more off and blended it to the valve. then polished a bit. wow what a difference. it is touchy now and when i get off the gas the rpms drop real fast now. but alas its all messed up. the TPS is bad on this TB 2. and i need to have it alinged. so my idle is all messed up.

ill do cams when i do the timming chain. gas prices are high and im broke so i can't afford premium

They're high where you are? They've been dropping up here in Northern Canada. From around $1.25/L to $0.90/L for regular. Premium is higher than normal, though, for some reason.

you could hit 14.5 on a basically stock vr, just work on your driving. good tires would help too

nah a stock vr runs high 15's. stock 5.0 mustangs run mid tolow 14's. well the TB hauls ass but i need to have it calibrated so my idle is all messed up.

A 1995 GLX should run 16.1 stock so high 15s sounds about right for a 1996? GLX = VR6, right? I'm just using http://www.eurotuned.com/0-60.htm for these numbers and they don't give much info. My car should run a 17.8... it's way slower :P

How about the Dunlop FM901 in a 205/50/15 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=SP+Sport+FM901&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=95VR5FM901&fromCompare1=yes&place=1

and for the price, and the traction your gonna get, who wouldnt, im gonna runs these, when my Falken's wear out.

gas around here is like roughly 2.14/gal for premium.

i would be willing to bet that a decent driver with drag radials and a chip(for higher rev limit) could hit ~14.5. 1.8t's on stock turbos have hit mid 13's and the VR isn't THAT much slower. just take a bunch of crap outta the car, run the good gas, and go practice :)

Try getting some light weight wheels, cant really go smaller diameter cause of your big honkin brakes. got with big wide ass tires up front.
BGF Drag Radial T/A should do the trick.
