Ok, I went to the dealer to get the 30k service, and they told me that I needed new rear brake pads/rotors, and an air filter. I told the service guy to hold off on the brakes, and replace the air filter. . . LOL, waste of money. $15 for the filter, and $14 for the 30 secs it took to replace it. But I digress... Anybody know a good place to take my car to replace the brakes in the Phoenix area? Wish I could do it myself, but I don't have the tools or the space to do it myself. Also want to see if I can get it done better and cheaper than at VW.
P.S. Anyone know why the VW people say the rear rotors can't be re-finished?

Not Camelback...
Not that place they advertise on the radio that cost like 99.95.
Go to BAP... get the parts... find a bottle and a small hose (about 1/4 in)... a hammer.. Allen wrenches... and some sockets... and you're golden...

LOL, I don't have the space to work on my car, my apartment complex is nazis when it comes to doing work on your car. I got a referral from a friend of mine for a mechanic in Tempe, and the guy said he wouldn't be able to save me any money over the stealership 8O So I ended up shelling out $400 for the brakes. I can't wait till I can buy a house with a garage and do this stuff myself. I didn't use Camelback either, N. Scottsdale is closer to me.

Gimme the number for your apt complex's management, and I'll give them a piece of my mind.

They do give you covered parking, but the asphalt still gets really hot. Plus I wouldn't want to have something happen and need to take a break from the job (no pun intended) and have someone just snag my tires while I wasn't looking.

i did my golf frontend swap in my old apt complex, did my suspension about a million times. yeah i need to get my rotors or actually just one rotor resurfaced but i can buy some new ones and put them on myself for the price of resurfacing.
