I was thinking about getting new rims for my car... but was wondering a few things. I was planning on getting 17" rims. I may go 16" though.
a) Will rims look bad on a stock car?
b) What type of tire will make my ride the same, lower, higher, smoother, bumpier, etc.
c) In general, what do the 3 numbers on a tire represent? (I'm a newb.)
I appreciate the help.

Rims would look good depending on what kind you get... Whatever you like. If you plan on lowering get 16" if you dont I would go with 17". Yes diff tires will make it higher lower whatever. The three numbers (someone correct me if im wrong) represent rims size/Highth/Width not sure whats first highth or width

Just a tip..... always lower a car before putting on rims... I think more people into dubs have more respect because buying rims are easy.... putting a suspension kit aint so easy. Follow? I put a FK 60/40 cupkit in mine with bonrath lowering caps, then threw 16" TSW Hockenheims which are discontinued. If I eventually can, after I do a front end swap and fix a few minor minor dings, I'll go to 17's but honestly, check out ebay first for them. I got two replacement rims off ebay because two of mine were mad bent and they were only 45 bucks each plus like, 25 shipping and they came in perfect condition.

Yeah... I 2nd everything she says... VW's don't have a too good of time with 17 inch rims, unless wheelwell modification and precautions are taken... I'd go 16's, which look hella nice on jettas.
Donna"marie", send me the files, and I'll slap em up on the dubnet server.
