I"m thinking about hooking up an x-box with a tv in my trunk. I'm not allowed to have an entertainment system according to my parents... so I figure they can't stop me if it's in my car, since I paid for the car. I found some power converters online, so I can just hook them up to a car battery, but I need to know what kind of wattage I'm gonna need to support a tv and an x-box. Also, how long should one of these things last? I don't wanna hafta buy a new car battery every week.

X-box is rated at 100 watts, so it really depends on the wattage of the TV. Also, if it's just a cigarette-adaptor style inverter, I would just hook it up in the back if you have an outlet back there. If you get worried about the battery running low, just drive around a bit!

Hmmmm, I was thinking of actually getting a seperate battery, and hooking it up through a converter, so I could just plug the TV and X-Box into it. Is that practical, or would they not last long like this?

by hooking up the spare battery, do you mean hooking it up to the rest of the car, or having it as a stand alone battery? cuz then you'll need to change them every once in awhile....

The problem with using another batterie is youll have to recharge it alot if you run off your car batterie you will be recharging it evertime you drive youll just have to make sure you start the car every now and then.

hey man, i feel for you. i went out and bought a n64 and tv behind my parents backs when they were on vacation, and when they found out they took it away from me and wouldn't give it back till i was 18. i'm 20 now and i'm still bitter.

you should be able to run it off your battery, but it will kill the battery probably within an hour. check out the eliminator (sold at Canadian Tire, so if you are an american....too bad) it's got lotsa power.

Good news, I talked my parents into letting me get one. Although having it in my car would still be interesting...

Listen to this... I got cumulitive gpa in high school of 3.89, and my parents let me rebel all the time... I got to get what I want when I wanted it... I'm almost 20 myself, and already I am way more successful than both my older brothers combined, and they are all 9 years older or more.... Just goes to show what happens... My one brother was a freaking HS dropout, but my parents wouldnt let him rebel as his leisure.

Ive had and been playing on gaming systems since i was 3 years old possibly less I don't know what I'd do wihtout playing video games...a life without Legend of Zelda thru majoras Mask? a life wihtout F-Zero thru Gran Turismo 3 and potentially 4? its almost blasphemus...you have alot to catch up on boys...but Legend of Zelda for Nintendo is the hardest RPG game possibly ever made...i had a 2.9 GPA coming out of HS but I had a 1210 on the SAT's and was an Eagle Scout hence getting me into SJU's Tobin School of Business with a **** load in Scholarships...
