The difference in SPL's will be very small when you add another sub... You will know there is another one there, but you won't "double" your sound output by adding another sub... You'll probably get 8-10% more DB's and SPL's by adding another sub. 3 of those suckers is only going to kill your alternator.... The wiser choice would be to get one or 2 subs that have a higher power rating.

Do you like audiobahn? I've heard some good things about them...

I just got rid of 2x 12 inch sony Xplod subs... They didnt hit REALLY hard, but they hit pretty well... and the bass was high quality... They were not amazing speakers but the price was right for what they performed.

Amplifier wise I would look at sony... their amps rock!!! For speakers I would look at MTX or JL audio if I wanted lots of SPL's... If I was into more high wuality bass, I would look at infinity, JBL or bose. (i think bose might still make car audio stuff)..

That's just a suggestion from a guy that has had a lot of different equipment.

If I were you, I would get on crutchfield.com and check out the sales they are running.... I heard a new subwoofer made by Volfenhag at the local audio shop... A lot of their crap is really cheap, but their most expensive woofers are freaking amazing... you could check those out... mabey crutchfield sells hags...

Yeah... I'll tell you, I really can tell the difference in the quality of a system... You really do get what you pay for in car audio.... If you have the money, I would spend a lot and get just one sub.... Rockford Fosgate has some pretty whicked subs. One of them ( this one for example: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ffKWtvuFo3W/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=575T110D4 ) Will outperform 3 of your audiobahns put together if you use the right amp and right box... This is the type of sub thats so loud you can hear coming from a quarter mile away.

I'd go for a sub that covers a higher frequency range than the 12". My 10" Kenwood isn't the greatest sub out there, and it sounds awesome at low frequencies when playing hip hop and what-not, but when I play some other, more dynamic music, I really miss out on the high end bass because the sub can't play it too well and neither can the three-ways... if this is the same issue with you, maybe getting an 8" or something would be cool.

Otherwise, I'd suggest just getting a real high quality sub that does it all. My friend used to have 2 10"s and a 12 and when he got rid of the 2 10s it was hardly different. Same thing goes with the local audio comps, this one hardcore ricer guy had 4 12s compared to guys with 2 10s and the 2 10s were getting higher db and sounding better.
