i know why kinda but has anybody ever wondered why it takes awhile for 8Vs rpms to drop? i guess cause just the 2V per clinder it takes longer for the exhuast gasses to ecape and junk.

mine drops fast lol if i gun it and let it off it drops like a rock :D....might be becasue i have a performance chip in it tho

Mine drop pretty quick. All I've done was new exhaust and just did a full tune up. Before my car used to really not like dropping RPMs. Unless you're going up a hill the shift points are between 25-32 K if you're significantly outside this range check your air filter and electrical stuff, otherwise your clutches probably need to be replaced.

That's just your average effects on a sluggish 8V... The 8V is an incredible engine, but in no way can it be considered a performance engine.... Could be your ISV, or sensors... Well... Could be anything actually, but i'd start by checking ISV, MAF, and run some injector cleaner.

it drops fast till it hits 2K then it slowly drops back down to idle

That could definatly be a worn out MAF sensor, or plugged injectors... If the fuel is not being atomized correctly, it can cause poor throttle response, and tweaked performance like how you explain. If I were you I would get some throttle body cleaner, and clean out your ISV valve... That couldnt hurt.

That's a really good question! 8O When I had my 8V I took that little plastic cap thingger off the maf and cleaned up the connections between the moving parts and the ciruit board in the maf, that seemed to improve performance durring idle.. When the engine is better in tune like that everything runs better. I'd try the other things I suggested first. ISV and O2.

well i cleaned the ISV not that long ago. and the PVC system. i have a spare MAF from a 1990 caberolet. witch i am striping so if you want anything tell me. im tearing everything off of it that doesn't need to to be on for it to be toed
