When I first bought my little $50 2.1 stereo system for my computer, I was so stoked on the fact that I had a sub and the setup itself was, to me, the best thing in the world.

Now that my car stereo is better than before, I'm more stoked on it because it sounds great and my computer stereo setup just really lacks to me.

Well, today I found the box for the speakers, here are the specs :P

Sub - 3" woofer in tiny box - 4.5w RMS
Satellites - 2.5W RMS each

Wow... my sub has over 37x more power running to it... now my computer system is so much less exciting.

Yeah, but it takes a lot less power for home component systems... Allthough it's just a few watts, that sub probably provide more depth than any sattelite speaker you could ever find... Really, it takes a lot less to make good sound at home... Partly because the the sound waves seem to be deepened by the walls... I dunno.

I hooked up my two 12 inch subs inside, using a car battery and a 12amp charger, and hooked it up to my computer just to see what it would sound like.... IT WAS SOOOOO LOUD IT WOULD RATTLE SHIZ OFF THE WALLS UPSTAIRS!!! 4.5 doesnt sound like a lot of power, but it's really great when providing just a little bit of depth for your computer... You'd be surprised... Most of those home theater subs are only like 75 or 100 watts, and you can feel the bass when you are on the couch.

I think my home stereo puts out like 40 something watts to each speaker, and that's plenty.
