AMEN! Guess what folks? I have made truce with the powers that be at Jettaowners. I have in turn asked them to unbann everybody that was banned as a result of (whatever) happened. Please don't blow it, and don't badmouth jettaowners. So far the new software has not been so bad, but we really need to work at it to get the crowd back to the level of respect that there once was.
NOTICE: This does not change DubNet's plans to become huge. I have however vowed to NEVER advertise in any way shape or form on JO, this includes other users of DubNet. Do NOT plug this site on Jettaowners, unless there is a true informational reason to link to a topic or something.
PLEASE be respectable, and respect the owners and administration of that site. With that said, let's get on with our lives. I've started the process of fixing DubNet, so let's invite more and more dubbers to our site and get things going good again...
Thanks yall.
and to think that was just last year? why the sudden hostility? i've been known to hold a grudge, but come on now. the subject has been dropped for a long time. you don't see us posting crap about this site and its whole 191 members, of which 30 have a count of an astonishing 50 posts.....
i'm not here to start ****. i saw cody post in jo and i came over here to see how things were goin. looks like **** hasn't taken off as expected huh? not as easy running a site like this as you thought it would be....which is why you should maybe get off brians balls about "what he's done to jo" and just accept the fact that things aren't always gonna stay the way you want them to, and, if you want to make something better, you have to put a little bit of effort into it and not run off and hide in some obscure part of the internet. jm.02 of course.
i tried to smooth things over with everyone and get the groups back together and i thought everything was cool....what happend?
anyway...i'm gonna attempt to put some respect back into jo and help would be appreciated. if your egos aren't to big, and you all can swallow them for a while i'd appreciate the traffic and ideas to accomplish that....
p.s. i'm not saying **** to brian about that info posted...i would however appreciate it if you took care of it yourself...its really not nessecary...

Well, this may have been a year ago, I wasnt the one that stirred up this topic again. When somebody posted it just made me remember how mad I was when he changed to vbullitien and f'ed up everything. That may be true that change is necessary to make things better, but the FACT was Jettaowners was growing faster than vortex RIGHT before brian took over. PHPbb was handling the workload just fine, and PHPbb has proven efficiency in handling 280,000 members. The setup before brian took over was just fine, and was so much fun to use and to just BS. He came in and made it hard to navigate, and messed up everything. He didnt even listen to what the majority wanted, he just went ahead and changed to vbullitien, which to my understanding is pretty hefty durring renewal time.
About how "small" we are... I'm not denying the fact that it's hard to run a site... I've been running sites for 8 years, I know what it takes. However, I have spent ZERO dollars on advertising, and in the past year, I have put less than 2 hours into the site (other than posting). I now host the site in a data center instead of in my house. I have put ZERO dollars into the site since day one, so the fact that we have 190 members doesnt surprise me at all.
Also, in case you really dont' remember, this is a brand new site... Getting new members and making them post is the hardest part. Why don't you look at the first members of vwfixx, jettaowners, club18t, or even vw vortex... The first 500 members are generally very low post accounts, because it's hard to get people to genuinely post on a site that is not very active... So the fact that the post count is "astonishing" to you, doesnt really worry me either.
In the past year, I have been posting on Vortex, and I have learned to love it. The site flows great, has tons of activity, tons of information, and best of all, flamers are met with a swifth boot in the ass. Vortex has done a lot to clean up their image and make it fun to post there. As long as you are not an idiot, it's easy to avoid conflict in Vortex.
I am going to continue to post on dubnet, and just see how things go for the next few years... As for posting on jetta owners, I'm really weary about wasting my time on there again... And I'll be completly honest. I've been watching the forums since the "re grand opening" and already, I have saw a lot of disrespect and flames... DeadKing's attitude, and immaturity makes me wonder who in the right mind would make him a moderator... I was flamed more by moderators in JO than by members. If you are trying to clean up the image of jetta owners, I'll be willing to help under a few conditions... You need to have a serious talk with your mods, and members about how flaming ruins message boards. You need to restructure the moderating chain and get people in there who know how to keep cool and keep the boards fun.
If you can give me access to my 3,000 posts that I had before as mr diesel, then I will come back, and post and hopefully get things rocking over there again.
I'll also agree to take down this post for goodwill, but if anything rediculous happens like what has happened in the past, I won't hesitate to let people know how I feel about it. What happened when brian bought it, was a freaking joke. I believe that the board can be salvaged and made fun again, if only a few things are done.

well, i personaly like the 190 members. because out of that 190 ide say 80-90% of them know what there talking about. Makes it easier to get the right information without junk posts. I think if JO got back on the right track it would be awsome. but sadly to say allot of the users are spamers/flamers and need to be booted. Once that bs stops JO will thrive with information not b/s about this person or this and that.
